Introduction

The VWR Intake Filter upgrades replace the restrictive factory paper filters with an improved, high flow and reusable lifetime foam filter. This upgrade is one of the most cost-effective improvements one can make to increase power and fuel economy and is desirable for anyone looking for an improvement that does not deviate far from the factory intake design.

The VWR intake filter is constructed from three layer open-cell polyurethane foam, which gives a high level of filtration to protect the engine from contaminants in the air, while not restricting airflow. This same filter material is used by F1 teams around the world due to it’s excellent filtration and airflow properties. In VWR’s experience, cheaper filter materials are unable to deliver the same flow and filtration resulting in a compromise of engine performance.

Testing has shown a great increase in airflow over the factory paper filters which results in better fuel economy and increased power. On turbo and supercharged engines, the increased airflow can result in a 10ft-lb of torque increase, which translates to a positive gain you can feel during every day driving.

Install and Servicing

The VWR Filter is a direct factory replacement. Installing the filter is as simple as locating the factory unit and replacing it with the new one. Service is also simple as the intake filter does not need to be replaced. It’s a lifetime filter, meaning it only needs to be cleaned every 20,000 miles.
